Juan Bendana is one of the most inspiring people I know. If you've ever caught one of his Instagram stories, you'd know: the man truly walks the walk. His positivity and motivation are not just for show, and he's using that energy to spread his message as an International Youth Speaker.

Juan was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by personal growth, and people who knew the value of living an intentional life. The problem? Those people were all 3 times his age!

To give today's youth a fighting chance at creating a life on their terms, and making an impact big or small, he's hustled his way to becoming one of the most charismatic youth speakers I've ever seen. I wanted to bring on today's episode to show you that it's possible to create an impact at any age.

SOME QUESTIONS I ASK:

  • What was the turning point in your youth when you went from from partying and poor social choices to finding your passion?
  • How did you discover your passion for speaking?
  • How pivotal is your peer group to your success?
  • What was your biggest struggle when you first started speaking?

IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL LEARN:

  • How Juan's peer group has shaped his success.
  • What Juan learned from 3 failed masterminds.
  • The first step you should take when you want to find an inspiring peer group.
  • The biggest mistake new speakers make.
  • The one thing that helps you prepare for the dreaded Q&A portion of a speech.

No matter what happens in your life, you always have the opportunity to choose suffering, or choose joy. To let go, or to control. Hint: the ability to control is an illusion and an endless uphill battle.

As I prepare today for a visit from my ex-boyfriend, and his new fiance, I realize how different my life has become since choosing to surrender. Since realizing that not everything is about me

So much more love can enter when you aren't trying to control it. So much more joy is possible when you trust that it is inevitable.

This is a personal episode and one that I wasn't intending to share today. I hope that it resonates with you, allows you to loosen your grip on certain areas of your life, and to trust that the Universe always has your back.

This is the first episode in our #UNCUT with Kim and Katie B mini-series. I loved getting to have real-talk with my co-host Katie B from the Real Rebel Podcast; I'm secretly praying we will extend this 4-part series indefinitely.

Katie is a dear friend I met on a recent trip to Bali and given that we're both about living that unconventional life, and DOING YOU, we thought wanted to get a bit more candid in front of the camera (and behind the podcast mic) for the benefit of YOU, the listener.

IN THIS WEEK'S EPISODE WE CHAT ABOUT:

  • What happens when we visit a fortune-telling High Priestess
  • The story of Luna
  • Tips for first-time travelers to Bali
  • How Ubud differs from the beach towns
  • Some of the perils and perks of living in South East Asia
  • What led both of us to fly halfway around the world
  • How to tell if you've been in Bali too long
  • What is the 'feather collective'?
  • And much more...

Luis Angel is a memory expert and is best known for winning the Fox TV show, Superhuman, where he used his skills to memorize the names and cities of every audience member. I've seen his magic at work when he memorized a 40 digit number in under a minute, but his life was not always this way. Growing up around gangs, and watching his family struggle to make ends meet, he saw a different future for himself.

I brought Luis on today to show what is possible when you surround yourself with the right people, and follow your curiosity and passion for a better life.

Luis will tell you that his memory skills are something anyone can learn!

His process for memorizing insane amounts of information is so fascinating to me, that I asked Luis to describe how this skill can be transferred to your life. He's so passionate about how memory mastery has changed his trajectory that now he’s teaching other people how they can do the same.

Imagine never forgetting someone’s name again... Think about how much more influence you could have if you remembered every person you met and something about them!

Well, Luis can show you how. Listen or watch below and if you like the episode, leave a comment over on Instagram

SOME QUESTIONS I ASK:

  • What is a memory master?
  • What made him want to go see one initially?
  • What is the process that Luis and other memory experts use to retain huge amounts of information?
  • What’s the hardest thing Luis has ever had to memorize?
  • Who are some of Luis’s mentors

IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL LEARN:

  • How getting kicked out of college led him to become a memory master.
  • How anyone can become a memory maste.
  • The #1 thing you need to do to enhance your memory.
  • How Luis can memorize a string of random numbers in under 1 minute (forward AND backward!)
  • How to use a memory palace.
  • Why you should care about improving your memory.
  • What a brain boardroom is.

Woohoo Season 3 is officially underway! In this episode, I go behind the scenes of my recent trip to Bali and share how this season will be different than any other. Hint: more solo episodes like this one.

You can expect a lot more #realtalk, both in the new solo episodes (released every Monday) and in a brand new collab series I'll be doing with Katie B. from The Real Rebel Podcast.

More boldness coming at you each week! If you like the new format, leave me a comment over on instagram: @theboldlifemovement.
